An unidentified woman was hit and killed by a train in Dhaka’s Moghbazar area Saturday (February 17).
Tamez Uddin, Sub-Inspector of Hatirjheel Police Station confirmed the matter.
The incident occurred at 9:30 am on Saturday when the woman was crossing the railway tracks and was hit by a departing train from Kamalapur, Tamez Uddin said.
The woman, believed to be in her 40s, could not be identified immediately.
Later, locals rushed her to the nearby Insaf Barakah Hospital following the incident.
She was later transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where an attending physician declared her dead, he added.
The body was kept at the hospital morgue and the Railway Police are investigating the matter.
