3rd Interschool 'STEM Fest 2024' held in city

The two-day 3rd Interschool 'STEM Fest 2024' organized by International Hope School Bangladesh (IHSB) was held on its Main Campus in Uttara here Saturday.

 
Md Khosru Chowdhury, MP, from Dhaka-18 constituency was present as the chief guest at the opening ceremony of the festival started at 10am on Friday, said a press release.

Professor of Biochemistry and Microbiology Department of North-South University Dr Abdul Khalek and Pro-Vice Chancellor of Bangladesh Branch of UCSI University of Malaysia Datwar Mohammad Saleh were present as special guests.

IHSB Principal Roksana Jerin delivered the welcome speech in this science festival.

 Around 1,500 students of sixth to twelfth grade from the best 50 schools in the capital participated in 115 science projects here.

STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Fest is a novel science event. This year it had various types of experiments in various branches of science. Biochemistry, robotics, physics, chemistry and other science-related projects in this festival, rich in modern technology, have introduced students to science-mindedness and scientific thinking.

This year Interschool STEM Festival is being held for the third time this year. The aim of this organization is to make students more active, energetic and creative in science practice. It will encourage the students towards innovative thinking and practical process of science in practical life, the release added.
