Bangladesh Fisheries Development Corporation (BFDC) on Wednesday launched "Ready to cook fish" marketing programme in three areas in the city.
"Womenfolk will be benefited through launching the Ready to cook fish . . . I hope the ready to cook fish programme will smoothen life of women," Fisheries and livestock Minister Abdur Rahman made the comments at the inaugural function of the programme, an official release said.
The minister said Ready to cook fish will be sold in three areas -- BFDC Matcha Bhababan at Kawranbazar, Jatarabari Matcha Abotoron Kendra, and Chattagram Fish Port.
Besides, Ready to cook fish, arranged by BFDC, will be sold in 16 spots through six freezing van in Dhaka city.
The 16 spots are - Mohakhali DOHS, Road No. 27, Banani, Navy Headquarters and Gulshan (adjacent to Azad Masjid), South Gate of Secretariat, Mirpur DOHS, Mirpur, Sapna Nagar Residential Area, Cantonment , Mirpur Aparajita Bhavan, Mirpur, Dhanmondi No. 6, Azimpur Colony, Azimpur, Ladies Club, Eskaton, Secretary Quarter, Eskaton (Wednesday & Saturday),
ACC Office, Segunbagicha, AGB Colony, Motijheel, Shankar, Dhanmondi, Sechbhavan, Manik Mia Avenue (Friday and Saturday), Dhanmondi 28, and Mohammadpur Adjoining Mother and Child Hospital, Mohammadpur.
Apart from this, marketing programme will be taken up through online, e-commerce platform and appointment of area-based dealers, the minister added.
