President hosts milad on Bangabandhu's birth anniversary

President Mohammed Shahabuddin on Sunday hosted a special doa and milad mahfil at Durbar Hall of Bangabhaban after Zohr prayers, marking the 104th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the "National Children's Day- 2024".

A special munajat was offered seeking eternal peace of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his deceased family members, who were brutally assassinated on the fateful night of August 15 in 1975.

Pesh Imam of Bangabhaban Jam-e-Masjid Mufti Maulana Saiful Kabir conducted the munajat and milad mahfil.

Doa was also offered seeking divine blessings for peace and prosperity of the country, welfare of the people and greater unity of the Muslim Ummah across the world.

Earlier, on the occasion a brief discussion on the life and works of Bangabandhu was held in the noon.

President's Secretary Md Wahidul Islam Khan, Military Secretary Major General SM Salah Uddin Islam and Press Secretary Md Joynal Abedin spoke there.

They highlighted various aspects of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu's political career.

They urged everyone to work unitedly to implement the activities undertaken by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to materialize Bangabandhu's dream to build a hunger-free "Sonar Bangla".

Before this, a video on the life and works of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was screened.

President's family members, secretaries concerned, civil and military officials and employees of the Bangabhaban attended the munajat.
