Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Samanta Lal Sen has directed the authorities concerned to work in a coordinated way to prevent dengue this year.
Talking to journalists at his secretariat office on Monday, he urged people to keep their houses and surroundings clean.
Hospital authorities have also been directed to take necessary measures for dengue treatment, he said.
The minister said there will be no saline crisis this year as the ministry had already held a meeting over the issue.
About the presence of physicians and nurses at hospitals during Eid vacation, Sen said he had tried his level best during Eid vacation. "I found enough doctors and nurses in every hospital I had visited and I was satisfied with their services during Eid," he said.
"Even before becoming a minister, I used to go to the hospital first and then to the festivals," he added.
"This year, food was provided to the on-duty doctors, nurses and staffers because most of the food outlets remained closed due to Eid holidays," he said.
