British-Bangladeshis urged for strengthening PM's hand to build prosperous nation

High Commissioner of Bangladesh to the United Kingdom (UK) Saida Muna Tasneem has urged the British-Bangladeshi youth generation to strengthen Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's hand in the unstoppable march of a sovereign, progressive, non-communal and prosperous Bangladesh imbued with 71's spirit.

She told a special discussion organized by Bangladesh High Commission, London at a hotel in Central London on Saturday evening marking the great victory day, a press release said here today.

 

 

 

Tasneem also paid deep respect to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, martyred freedom fighters, wounded freedom fighters, women-heroes and four national leaders of the Great Liberation War.

UK Minister for Housing, Homelessness and Communities of the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities Felicity Buchan attended the discussion as chief guest while High Commissioner of India to the UK Vikram Kumar Doraiswami was present as special guest, among others.

Felicity Buchan lauded the extraordinary leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the past decade and a half in the socio-economic development of Bangladesh and strengthening the bilateral relations of Bangladesh with the United Kingdom.

She hoped that the development of Bangladesh will continue in the future alongside strengthening Bangladesh-UK relations.

At the beginning of the discussion, the High Commissioner along with the guests and mission officials laid wreaths at the symbolic National Memorial.

Later, a minute of silence was observed in memory of the martyrs of the Great Liberation War.
