A total of 32 heifers were distributed among the fishermen in Lalpur upazila of the district today to create alternative employment.

Lawmaker Md. Abul Kalam from Natore-1 constituency distributed the heifers in a function held in Upazila Parishad (UP) premises this noon.

With Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Sharmin Akter in the chair, the function was addressed, among others, by district Fisheries Officer Dr Abul Kalam Azad and UP Chairman Isahaque Ali.

Upazila Fisheries Office arranged the function.
