Another Rohingya child, who suffered burn injuries in a gas cylinder blast at Bashan Char Rohingya camp on Saturday (February 24) died at Chattogram Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) last night, taking the death toll from the incident to five.
The victim was identified as Rusmida, 03, daughter of Abdur Shukkur of Bashan Char Rohingya Camp.
Rusmida succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment at CMCH last night around 11pm, said Noakhali Superintendent of Police (SP) Mohammad Asaduzzaman.
The child suffered 52 percent burn injuries in the blast.
On Saturday (February 24), nine people were injured when a gas cylinder exploded at the Rohingya camp in Bashan Char area.
Of them, seven were taken to Chattogram Medical College and Hospital for treatment, where a minor named Russell, 3, succumbed to his injuries on way to the hospital on the day.
Two more Rohingya children Mubashshera, 04, and Robi Alam, 05, died at CMCH on Monday (February 26).
Besides, Jobaida, 22, and Amena Khatun, 24 are undergoing treatment at the CMCH, SP said.
