Tk 12 lakh distributed among 24 patients in Bhola

Medical assistance cheques worth about Taka 12 lakh were distributed among the 24 patients suffering from various complicated diseases, including cancer, in Lalmohan upazila from the financial assistance of the  Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday.

Member of Parliament (MP) Nurunnabi Chowdhury Shaon handed over the cheques to the patients as the chief guest at a function held in the hall of Lalmohan Upazila Parishad, organized by the Department of Social Services with Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Tauhidul Islam in the chair in the afternoon.

The chief guest said, with the visionary steps under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh is now advancing at an unstoppable pace in development. There is no alternative to Sheikh Hasina to continue these ongoing development activities of the country, he added.

Upazila Parishad Chairman Principal Gias Uddin Ahmed, Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Imran Mahmud Dalim, Upazila Awami League General Secretary Fakhrul Alam Howladar, Upazila Social Service Officer Md. Masud Talukder, among others, were present.

A total of 24 patients suffering from Cancer, Kidney, Liver Cirrhosis, Stroke, Paralysis, Congenital Heart Disease and Thalassemia were provided medical assistance of an amount of Taka 50,000 per person.
