BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has organized a mass campaign in the Dhaka's Shantinagar to boost the party’s non-cooperation movement and call on the public to boycott the upcoming national polls scheduled for January 7.

He distributed leaflets in the Shantinagar intersection and kitchen market area on Wednesday (December 27) morning.

Rizvi claimed that people of the country have collectively snubbed the one-sided elections, displaying disinterest in the upcoming polls as the result has been predetermined.

He cited the absence of voting rights and freedom of expression as grounds for election refusal.

Earlier on December 20, BNP urged voters to boycott what it called a "one-sided dummy election" due in January, as Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina kicked off her campaign for a fourth consecutive term.
