Information and Broadcasting Minister and Awami League Joint General Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud on Wednesday said BNP’s voice against election is becoming soften gradually as their call to boycott of poll has completely failed.
“BNP supporters are eagerly waiting to exercise their franchise,” he said while addressing an election rally in front of Quddus Market in Shilak union of Ranguniya upazila of the district.
AL Shilak, Saraf bhata and Kodala unions units jointly organized the rally.
Dr Hasan, also a candidate of Awami League from Chattogram-7 constituency, said BNP unlashed terrorism across the country to resist the election which led to killing many innocent people.
But, now they could realize that there is no benefit of the subversive activities as the people are not afraid of their violence, he said.
He said the upcoming election is now turned into a festivity. BNP supporters are also joining in the festivity with joy.
He said many BNP supporters have joined the public rally and they will cast their vote for ‘Boat’.
AL leaders Abul Kashem Chisti, Nazrul Islam Talukder, Abdul Monaf Sikder, Nurul Azim, MA Mannan Chowdhury, Shahidullah Chowdhury Ayub Khan, Mozibul Islam Sarfi, Jahangir Alam, chairman Sheik Farid Uddin Chowdhury, Abdur Rouf Master, Master Abul Hashem BSC, Badiul Alam, Md Ishak, Anowar Talukder and Md Yunus, among others, spoke on the occasion while AL Ranguniya upazila unit vice president Akter Kamal Chowdhury was in the chair.
