The election office of Awami Leage in Kaliganj upazila gutted by devastating fire Saturday ahead of national election.

 Locals said at around 2 am on Sunday morning, unidentified miscreants set fire to the electoral camp of the boat situated 200 yards from Kaliganj police station and only 50 yards from the office of Additional Superintendent of Police.

 The office furniture and other equipment were gutted before Kaliganj Fire Service and Civil Defense personnel rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control.  

Two businesses namely Raj Telecom and Asia Steel and Thai Aluminum adjacent to the AL office were also damaged in the fire. 

Boat symbol candidate SM Ataul Haque Dolan alleged that the election office of boat symbol was burnt by the candidate of anchor symbol of BNM, HM Golam Razor. He demanded  proper investigation of this incident and punishment of the culprits.

 Anchor Prateek candidate HM Golam Raza was contacted through mobile phone, but he did not receive his call from this Correspondent.
