Bangladesh Railway has finalized the name for a new train on the Dhaka-Cox's Bazar route–the Parjatak Express.
The train will provide non-stop passenger service similar to the current Cox's Bazar Express.
Bangladesh Railway announced the matter in a letter sent out on Monday. The train was to start operating on January 1, which has been delayed, and authorities have yet to set a new date.
The letter says Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has approved the name of the new non-stop intercity train.
Due to the demand of tourists, the authorities have approved the operation of the city train with newly imported Korean coaches, it adds.
The train will have 780 seats and services will be unavailable on Sundays.
