A garbage truck of a city corporation was set on fire in Agargaon area of the capital.
Fire Service and Civil Defense media wing official Shajahan Sikder said: "There was a report of a fire around 10 pm. Two units of Mohammadpur fire station rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control.”
There were no reports of casualties.
Police could not confirm whether the burnt truck belonged to Dhaka north or south city corporation.
Rubaiyat Zaman, additional deputy commissioner Tejgaon Police Division, said: "The number plate of the truck is incomprehensible. We are still not sure which city corporation the car belongs to. Besides, whether there is any injured incident, it is being investigated.”
Police could not tell how and who initially set fire to the truck.
