On Wednesday, Faizur Rahman, a student at the captivating Jamia Kakkasimul Uloom Dargah Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) Madrasah in Sylhet, experienced unprecedented joy. The occasion was the birthday celebration of Sayem Sobhan Anvir, the accomplished Managing Director of Bashundhara Group where he was entertained with high-quality foods marking the birthday.

Delicious food was distributed to underprivileged madrasa students, orphans, and street children in Dhaka, Chittagong, Khulna, Rangpur, Sylhet, and all over Bangladesh. According to Bashundhara Group, 1 lakh 33 thousand 262 children were fed delicious food on MD's birthday nationwide.

In addition to Dhaka city, food was distributed to 89,339 children in Rupganj, Keraniganj, and Savar. 10,200 children were given food in Chittagong, 10,000 in Khulna, 5,000 in Sylhet and Rangpur, 4,000 in Bancharampur, and 2,520 in Madanganj of Narayanganj.

Never did these orphan students imagine that they would receive an invitation to participate in the birthday festivities of a wealthy individual like Mr. Anvir, who stands among the wealthiest in the country. He chose to mark his birthday by sharing it with 1,33,000 orphans and madrasa students across the country. He extended this benevolent act last year as well, sending sustenance to the Madrasah.

The teachers are delighted by the students' enthusiasm. Muhtamim of Madrasa, Maulana Mashuk Uddin, expressed their gratitude to the boss of Bashundhara Group.

“It is a commendable and rewarding act. May Allah accept his noble initiative and grant him increased prosperity, enabling him to contribute even more to the well-being of others”, said the Principal of a leading Madrasha.

“Those affluent individuals who lavish thousands of taka on their birthday extravaganzas should take a cue from Sayem Sobhan Anvir on how to transform their celebrations into memorable, meaningful, and blissful occasions," he remarked.

Birthday parties—often costing well into the millions—are typically extravagant displays of hedonism, featuring intimate performances by rock stars, week-long extravaganzas on private islands, and mingling with A-list crowds of other magnates and celebrities.

For the birthday celebration with orphan children, officials of Bashundhara Group said Mr. Anvir was showered with wishes from his devout fans despite expressing his reluctance to organize any kind of grandeur.

“Hundreds of fans turned up at his residence with flowers and cakes from the early hours of his birthday. From various industrial establishments, businessmen, media personalities, people of various classes and professions congratulated him”.

“Thousands of people have gathered in front of his house since Wednesday morning. Fans came from far and wide with flowers and cakes to greet them. Apart from this, the flood of wishes also flowed through social media”, said an official working in Bashundhara Group.

“If you want a happy ending, that depends, of course, on where you stop your story. The good ending is that there was no shortage of cooking arrangements for orphan children”, the official said.

“The entire arrangement was directly supervised by Sayem Sobhan Anvir himself. This makes Wednesday morning a little different for the orphans. The fragrance of happiness fills their surroundings. An orphan's plate is full of their favourite food, with a little bit of mother's love or father's care as ingredients”, he said.
