Health and Family Welfare Minister Professor Dr Samanta Lal Sen on Saturday laid emphasis on improving healthcare services for common people.
“My aim is to improve healthcare services for reducing sufferings of common people,” he told journalists after a view-exchange meeting with vice chancellor of Chottogram Medical University and principals of different medical colleges here, an official release said.
In reply to a question of a journalist, the health minister said 30-bed ICU was inaugurated at Chattogram Medical College on Saturday, meaning the total number of ICU beds is 50 now at the hospital.
“We are working to remove shortage of ICU and I hope the ICU shortage will be removed in future,” he added.
