A song written on Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib, wife of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, was released officially on Sunday at an award-giving ceremony held in the city's Dhaka Club.

To mark the occasion of International Women's Day, Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) Director Mohammad Kamrul Islam Chowdhury wrote the song admiring the human qualities of Bangamata.

The song was composed by musician Tanim Hayat Khan Rajit, who also voiced the song accompanied by one Rabeya Basri. Music arrangement of the song was done by Sajeeb Das while its video editing was done by Khokon Karmakar.

To pay tribute to Bangamata, Mirror World organised the programme titled "Inspirational Award, 2024" and honoured 32 women for their important contributions in different fields of the society.

On the occasion, Social Welfare Minister Dr. Dipu Moni was present as the chief guest.

At the beginning of the programme, the song was played and officially released.

Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib always stood by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman as a shadow companion, making all his successes in student and political life easier.

She was killed brutally along with Bangabandhu and most of his family members on the fateful night of August 15, 1975.
