In a bid to stay alive in three-match T20 International series, Bangladesh put Sri Lanka into bat first after winning the toss in the second match at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.
The hosts lost the first match by three wickets despite a heroic of Jaker Ali Anik, who hammered 34 ball-68 in his first appearance with the national team.
Veteran Mahmudullah Riyad also scored a 31 ball-54 in his first T20 after two years but Bangladesh eventually failed to get over the line, largely due to the failure of the top order.
However they chose to be unchanged in the crucial game, keeping the faith of the squad that played the first game.
Considering the dew factor at the latter part of the game, Sri Lanka made one change, bringing in pacer Dilshan Madushanka in the place of spinner Akila Dananjaya.
Both team is playing the series with the T20 World Cup in USA and West Indies in mind.
