Bangladesh Women’s team squandered the chance to seal the three-match T20 International series against South African as the home side crushed them by eight wickets in the third and final T20 to level the three-match series 1-1 at Kimberley on Thursday.

The Tigresses won the first match by 13 runs, which was their first victory on South Africa’s soil. The second match was washed out due to rain, making the third game a decider one.

Being sent to bat first, Bangladesh were restricted to 94-6 with Lata Mondal making highest 42 and Shorna Akter contributing 23. South Africa raced to the victory making 95-2 in 15.2 overs. Opener and skipper Laura Wolvaardt led the team from the front with run-a-ball-49 not out.

The two teams will play a three-match ODI series with the series opening game on December 16 at East London. Before that, Bangladesh Women’s team will play a one-day practice game on December 12 at Bloemfontein.
